Hans-Walter Arends is an experienced tour guide and member of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association. A native German, he has lived in Edinburgh since 1992. Early in his career as a tour guide he discovered a lack of background information for German-speaking visitors to Scotland. This resulted in his production of a small Scotland booklet, which has been extended several times into the newest edition of the guidebook now known as Das Schottlandbuch.
Arends aims to make Scotland more accessible to German-speakers using the knowledge and experience he has gained over the last two decades and particularly seeks to promote German-language tourism in Scotland.
