Festival of Politics: 20 years of devolving power in the UK

  • The Scottish Parliament Edinburgh EH99 1SP (map)

What would life look like in 2019 if the Scottish and Welsh electorates had voted ‘no’ in the 1997 referendums? Or if the Good Friday Agreement had not been reached?

In this event, the panel will imagine what the UK would be like without devolution.

Chaired by Sir Paul Grice, Chief Executive of The Scottish Parliament, this panel includes:

  • Laura McAllister, Professor of Public Policy and the Governance of Wales at the Wales Governance Centre, at Cardiff University

  • Esther Roberton, Senior Governor at the University of Aberdeen and former Coordinator of the Scottish Constitutional Convention

  • Professor James Mitchell, Chair in Public Policy at the University of Edinburgh and co-editor of The Scottish Parliament at Twenty

Tickets are £6/£4 and are available from the Festival of Politics Eventbrite page here.
