Revel in the beauty of Edinburgh artist Eduardo Paolozzi's 'Millennium Window', designed for the Resurrection Chapel in St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral.
Paolozzi at Large in Edinburgh, edited by Christine De Luca and Carlo Pirozzi pays homage to the Edinburgh-born artist Eduardo Paolozzi. His native city is where some of his most arresting work can be found, including the Manuscript of Monte Cassino currently located at Hillside Crescent Gardens, the Wealth of Nations sculpture at Drummond House, Gyle Business Park and the Millenium Window at St Mary's Cathedral. Refecting the artist's multifaceted approach, the book contains a vibrant combination of responses to his revolutionary oeuvre, in particular the Edinburgh masterpieces. Full colour images of the artworks are accompanied by responsive artworks by Royal Scottish Academy artists and Christine De Luca's interpretative poetry.
Pirozzi and De Luca will discuss the conception of the book and will read some of the poems from the book.
The event will also include music from the Mayfield Salisbury Chamber Group and Paolozzi's inspiration for the window, as told by Professor Duncan MacMillan.
Admission is free and all are welcome. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided upon entry.
Please wrap up warm as the cathedral can be cold during the winter months.
