In the context of the political and constitutional upheaval coursing through the Western democracies Henry McLeish offers some new approaches to renew our politics.

The talk will draw on Henry’s huge wealth of experience at the heart of Scottish Politics and his wider reflections on the tumultuous times through which we are living. How do we develop a more inspired politics where citizens are valued and their views taken seriously? This talk will aim to stimulate a wider and deeper debate beyond the challenges of Brexit and Independence which can be seen as symptoms of a more fundamental malaise. Henry has served as First Minister of Scotland 2000-01, he has chaired commissions looking a Scottish Prisons and the Criminal Justice system, was an MP and led Fife Council for 5 years.
