Join St Catherine's Community Centre for Afternoon Tea and be entertained by three poets: Gerda Stevenson, Stewart Conn and John Glenday.

From 2002-2005 Stewart was Edinburgh’s inaugural Makar. His collections include ‘An Ear to the Ground’ (Poetry Book Society Choice), ‘The Luncheon of the Boating Party’ (SAC BOOK Award), ‘The Breakfast Room’ (2011 Scottish Poetry Book of the Year) and most recently ‘The Touch of Time’ (Bloodaxe Books).

Gerda is an award-winning actor, theatre director, author and singer-songwriter. Her collection of poems ‘If This were Real’ was reviewed in the Sunday Herald as “ the best of the new in contemporary Scottish poetry – not to be missed”. Her second collection ‘Quines’ – poems in tribute to women of Scotland, is described by Lesley Riddoch as “ a vivid explosion of thought and bold opinion – a wonderful, life-affirming book”.

John has been winning awards since his first collection ‘The Apple Ghost’. His other collections are ‘Undark’ (Poetry Book Society Recommendation); ‘Grain’ (short-listed for the Griffin International Poetry Prize and the Ted Hughes Award) and ‘The Golden Mean’ (winner of 2015 Roehampton Poetry Prize).
