I Ran With The Gang: My Life in and Out of the Bay City Rollers

  • Blackwell's Bookshop 53-62 South Bridge Edinburgh, Scotland, EH1 1YS United Kingdom (map)

Blackwell's Bookshop and publisher Luath invite you to an evening of 'Rollermania' with Alan Longmuir's book I Ran With The Gang: My Life in and Out of the Bay City Rollers.

Don your tartan for a celebration of the Bay City Rollers and the late Alan Longmuir’s story of life in the band from ‘a plumber from Edinburgh who just got lucky’ with the launch of I Ran With The Gang: My Life in and Out of the Bay City Rollers, co-written with Martin Knight.

The boyband that almost turned the whole world tartan, the Bay City Rollers were Edinburgh’s answer to The Beatles in the 1970s. Founded by Alan and his brother Derek, the band became an international success and sold over 120 million records, including the mega hits ‘Bye Bye Baby’ and ‘Shang-a-lang’.

Alan’s brother and fellow Roller Derek Longmuir will be at the event, and Martin Knight will talk about the highs of ‘Rollermania’ and Alan’s life after running with the tartan gang.

Admission is free and all are welcome. Although tickets are free, booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. To book your ticket, please visit the Blackwell’s event page.
