  • Baillie Gifford Main Theatre Edinburgh International Book Festival 5 Charlotte Square Gardens Edinburgh EH2 4DR (map)

Part of Edinburgh International Book Festival.

After news of Michael Marra's death broke in 2012, Scotland's cultural community knew it had lost a genius. Steeped in the life of Dundee, Marra's music was instantly recognisable, but his interests and activity were wide-ranging. James Robertson, author of Michael Marra, is joined by Calum Colvin, Sheena Wellington and Gordon MacLean, Marra's creative collaborators, to discuss the breadth of his artistic influence.

Calum Colvin OBE RSA is a Scottish artist whose work combines photography, painting and installation, and often deals with issues of Scottish identity and culture with the history of art. He is co-author of Bursiana: Artworks and Poems Inspired by the Life and Legacy of Robert Burns with Rab Wilson.
