Fundamental changes to our society involve daunting struggles against powerful forces. Individual initiative taken further by people acting together could lead to changes in political culture involving less dependence on changes from above. Contributors to Scotlands of the Future believe that to build a sustainable Scotland with an ecologically and socially just economy depends on politics beyond the Scottish Parliament as well as inside it.
