Author Bio Francis Thompson was born and grew up in Stornoway, and taught at Lews Caslte College there. His interests have always been centred in the Highlands and Islands, but always in the context of Scotland as a nation with an identifiable and viable culture. Huis deeply held beliefs have involved him in Scottish national politics and the struggle to achieve full recognition of his beloved Gaelic language.
