The Storr

In August 2005 an unforgettable installation was taken to one of Europe's most hauntingly beautiful landscapes - the high cliffs of Coire Faion and the Stòrr on the Isle of Skye.

For six weeks around midnight, groups, equipped with head torches and walking sticks, were guided through this inspiring landscape as the words of Skye's legendary poet Sorley MacLean echoed down from the mountain. This book of essays, photographs and diary excerpts from the event The Storr: Unfolding Landscape captures one of the greatest single site-specific environmental artworks ever to be staged in Britain or anywhere in the world.
