On the Trail of William Shakespeare is Keith Cheetham's latest offering in the series that explores the buildings and locations associated with some of the great figures of world history.

Here, Cheetham tracks Shakespeare's journey from his early years growing up in sleepy Stratford-upon-Avon to his glory days upon the London stage, and through to his quiet death in the mansion house back in the village where he was born. Along the way he visits many 'Shakespeare Houses', humble farmsteads, mighty castles, palaces, theatres and churches, giving a range of insights into the Elizabethan mode of life, and the life of the Bard in particular.
