Alistair Findlay was Bob Shankly’s first signing to Hibs when he took over from Jock Stein in 1965. He is also the author of poetry collections such as 2003’s Sex, Death and Football. He has a Masters Degree in Modern Poetry in English from Stirling University. He left football to become a social worker in 1968. He is strongly of the opinion that football is a suitable subject for poetry, not ASBOS.
